Peter began his playing career as an amateur international.
He played the European Tour for 10 years and played all over the world, consistently
in the top ten.
In 2000 he joined the Senior European Tour.
A member of the Ryder Cup Team in 1977 he won his singles against Don January 5 and 4 and that same year he was a member
of the World Cup Team partnering Nick Faldo. He has played with legends such as Player, Palmer, Trevino, Ballesteros,
Langer, Charles Watson, Weiskopf, Floyd and Faldo.
Some highlights of his player career:
- Tied Winner of the Senior PGA Championship 2001
- Winner of Double Diamond
- Tied Winner of the Nigerian Open
- 2nd in the Tournament Players Championship
- Participated 8 times in the British Open with a best finish of 14th
- Achieved a hole in one at the British Open, Royal Birkdale
